"If I need to build a rapport with a parent, I’m able to talk about something from my own personal experience as an Early Intervention parent, and that really helps to break down the barriers. They know that I’ve been in their shoes.”

— Keiani Gomes, Occupational Therapist, Early Intervention

Lovelee is standing next to a window, leaning on the ledge. He is colorfully dressed, with a matching hat. He has a gentle smile.

"My past is what keeps me moving forward, and I hope that someone who sees my story can take some inspiration from it, and it can be the key to them succeeding, too. Just by being here everyday, I help people know that it’s possible.

Change is possible.”

— Lovelee, CASPAR Graduate

Mona and George are outside in the fall. George is seated on a bench, Mona is standing behind him with her arms around his shoulders. They are smiling broadly.

“George has done everything that was asked of him. He isn’t afraid to speak his mind if he disagrees with something, but his cooperation with the nurses and staff speaks volumes to his strength and character.”

— Mona Ojugbana, Nurse Manager, Developmental Services

Stephanie is standing in front of the Bay Cove UCC office door, wearing a Bourne Police Department shirt. Her hands are clasped, and she is smiling.

"I’m excited to have the opportunity to be involved with helping both sides—the community and the police—interact in a way that benefits everyone.”

— Stephanie Rubel, Clinician, Bay Cove Behavioral Health Urgent Care Program on Cape Cod

Charles and Davida are standing outside in front of a mural. Charles has his arm around Davida. Davida is wearing a Red Sox sweatshirt. They are both smiling.

“It says a lot to me when an agency addresses issues that develop. It’s always good to have someone with good communication, good follow up and who inspires a sense of trust—whether it’s an agency, or a business, or another community organization.”

— Davida Andelman, President, Bowdoin-Geneva Neighborhood Association

27TH ANNUAL GEORGE C. CUTLER MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT

September 20, 2022 // Myopia Hunt Club in South Hamilton

Our annual George C. Cutler Memorial Golf Tournament was an enjoyable afternoon on the links and a tremendous success, raising nearly $100,000 for our Center House programs for individuals with psychiatric and/or developmental disabilities. The popular event—now in its 27th year—supports Bay Cove’s continuum of innovative, effective and structured programs that facilitate independence, dignity, self-determination, and community integration for their members.

Special thanks to The Cutler’s Presenting Sponsor, Liberty Mutual Insurance; Platinum Plus Sponsor, Riemer & Braunstein LLC; Gold Sponsors HUB Retirement & Wealth Management, M&T Bank and USI Insurance Services; and all our Silver Sponsors for making this wonderful event possible!

STRENGTHENING OUR COMMUNITY

May 12, 2022 // Maria L. Baldwin Park, Cambridge

After a tremendously successful virtual event in 2021, the 2022 Strengthening Our Community fundraiser for our CASPAR (Cambridge and Somerville Programs for Addiction Recovery) programs returned as an in-person event, bringing together Cambridge neighbors and members of the civic and business community to support CASPAR’s continuum of homelessness and substance use disorder services.

The event raised more than $375,000 in support of CASPAR’s vitally impactful, life-saving work. And we were proud to present Bill Kane and Team BioMed Realty with the Carl F. Barron Catalyst for Change Award in recognition of the positive change they’ve brought to the community and its most vulnerable neighbors.

We are profoundly grateful to the many individuals, businesses and organizations whose hard work and contributions made Strengthening Our Community such a fantastic event, and to all our generous attendees.

BAY COVE’S BIG NIGHT - HONORING BILL SPRAGUE

June 1, 2022// Big Night Live! at The Hub on Causeway

Bay Cove’s spring fundraiser got a new look and new energy in 2022, as more than 200 members of the Bay Cove Community came together for Bay Cove’s Big Night. This special evening raised close to $225,000 to benefit our continuum of vital programs, while also serving as an opportunity to bid a fond farewell to our retiring President & CEO, Bill Sprague. Bill was presented with our 2022 Changing Lives Award for his 30 years of dedicated service to Bay Cove, and was saluted by family, friends and colleagues.

Our gratitude to all the event sponsors, hard-working volunteers and guest speakers, and all the dedicated friends of Bay Cove who came out and gave generously to support the critically important work that we do each day for the most vulnerable members of our community.
