SMS/Text Messaging Privacy & Terms

Bay Cove Human Services, Inc. and its affiliates (“Bay Cove” “we,” “us,” “our”) use text messaging to communicate about services, scheduling, emergencies/closures, volunteering and donations, and employment applications. This notice explains how we handle your information when you opt in to receive SMS/text messages from us.

What We Collect
When you opt in to receive SMS messages, we collect:

  • Your mobile phone number

  • Your consent to receive SMS messages

  • You may opt-in as part of registering to donate to or volunteer with our organization to support our mission or by submitting an application to be employed by our organization.

How We Use Your Information
If you opt in to receive SMS messages, we will use your information to:

  • To send the messages you requested or agreed to receive. (e.g., appointment reminders, care coordination, building closures, donation/volunteer information, or updates on your job application.)

  • Provide updates, promotions, or other relevant content based on your preferences

 Message Frequency
Message frequency varies by program and your interactions with us. You will only receive texts related to the purpose for which you opted in.

Fees
We will not charge you fees to receive SMS messages from us, but many carriers charge a few for each message received. This can vary depending on your carrier’s pricing structure.

Opt Out / Help
Where supported, reply STOP to opt out of receiving those specific type of messages. Reply HELP to receive assistance. Where the STOP and HELP features are not available by SMS/text messages, contact us at development@baycove.org (donations, volunteering) or through the recruiter you have been in contact with about your application.

Sharing Your Information
We do not sell or share your phone number or SMS opt-in information with third parties for their marketing. We may share it with service providers (e.g., our telephony and authentication vendors) who process messages for us under contract and only for our purposes.

Data Security
We implement reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access or disclosure. However, no system is perfectly secure. Please do not text us sensitive personal or medical information. If this is an emergency, call 911.

Your Choices
Providing your mobile number and opting in is voluntary and is not a condition of receiving services or employment consideration with Bay Cove. You can opt out at any time as described above.
