KHAT AND JAYCE

Early Support That Makes a Difference

When Khat talks about her son Jayce, she calls him a miracle. Born at just 28 weeks and weighing barely one pound, Jayce spent his first 97 days in the NICU. As he grew, Jayce was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, global developmental delay, and cerebral visual impairment.

When Jayce was two, Khat enrolled him in Early Intervention, knowing how critical early support would be. Through the Department of Developmental Services, she was connected to Bay Cove, where she found a non-judgmental partner who truly embraced her family.

Bay Cove supported Jayce and Khat with Early Intervention services, respite care, and help navigating insurance and financial challenges—allowing Khat to focus on what mattered most: helping her son thrive. Now five years old, Jayce continues to beat the odds, meeting milestones and spreading joy.

Today, Bay Cove is the largest Early Intervention provider in Boston, expanding access so more families like Khat and Jayce’s can receive timely, compassionate care.
